À La Carte Menu
Charcoal-grilled kebabs, cold and hot meze, slow-cooked house specials and Mediterranean seafood, served every day from noon until 11pm.
A family-run Turkish and Mediterranean bar and grill on Newmarket High Street. Meze prepared each morning, kebabs cooked over open charcoal, and a bar that pours until eleven — seven days a week.

Newmarket · Suffolk
Turkoman was built around one piece of equipment: a charcoal grill that runs from the moment we open. Lamb is trimmed and skewered here, kofte is minced and seasoned here, and the flatbread comes off the heat as your table sits down.
Around it sits everything a proper Turkish and Mediterranean table needs — eleven cold meze, a hot meze board built for sharing, slow-cooked kleftiko and guvec from the oven, whole sea bass on the charcoal, and a bar list that runs from Yeni Raki to a Georgian Akhasheni and a well-made Espresso Martini.
We are in the centre of Newmarket, which puts us within easy reach of most of west Suffolk and east Cambridgeshire — Cambridge, Ely, Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall and Burwell are all a short drive away.
From the grill
Four plates that tell you what the kitchen is about.

Lamb shank braised until it gives way, with potatoes, carrot and tomato.

Charcoal-grilled lamb over smoked aubergine, garlic yoghurt and butter.

Minced lamb grilled, wrapped in lavash, finished with tomato and butter.

Paper-thin Turkish flatbread with seasoned lamb, straight off the heat.
Prices are shown on the menus.

The bar
The bar is not an afterthought. Cocktails are mixed to order, there are four mocktails for anyone driving, and the wine list runs from Sicily and Georgia to Chianti Classico and Dom Pérignon.

Yes. Most of the cold meze are vegetarian, and there is a dedicated vegetarian section — falafel, imam bayildi, vegetarian guvec baked in the oven, and a vegetarian kebab from the grill.
Tell us before you order and the kitchen will guide you. Do note that we work with nuts, sesame, dairy and gluten in a busy kitchen, so we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
We do — birthdays, corporate dinners and race-week parties. For parties over 12, call us and we will lay the room out properly.
